The Spring weather means we’ve been out in the garden a little more, enjoying the fresh air.

The apple blossom is out though once I remembered to bring my camera out with me, the sun had gone behind a cloud. It’s been rather changeable this week - sunshine, a shower or two and much cooler; cold even.

There’s an ornamental pear tree over by one of my favourite places to sit, watching the goings on in the pond. This year, the blossom seems particularly pretty - I have to say, it’s not a particularly pretty tree.

Whenever I wander around the garden, I find myself drawn to the same things - including this little track created by…who knows? a badger, perhaps, or the foxes?

Up here by the wall, I’d planted four tiny sloe bushes - just twigs at this stage, but hopefully, soon to be a bit bigger. Except something had taken the top of every one of them!

There’s no doubt, too, that something had been going on with our roses. They’re not special ones or anything, but they have a place in the border and I like to cut one or two to bring indoors during the summer. Looks like we might not see many blooms this year.

On Tuesday evening we discovered the culprit.

My Hero grabbed his phone to capture the evidence and we both banged on the window, only to be given a blank stare. When he carried on nibbling, we unlocked the door and went to shoo him away. Bold as brass, we got the continued hard stare until he realised the game as up and ran off.

Pest!
