At the Mall

At the Mall

Oh come on…

But it’s not just any old Mall! We were here for a purpose too, for we’ve had one thing on our shopping list the whole time we’ve been in Canada and here we are, on our last day here and we still haven’t found it. With nothing better to do on a chilly Monday, when everything museum and gallery related is closed, off we went to see what’s what.

Firstly, in an enormous place like this, we made sure we could remember where the car was parked.

Next, take a photo of the entrance we came in through, just so we wouldn’t forget which way out to take.

As we walked in search of a map/store directory, we reflected that one mall is so very much like any other, regardless of where in the world it might be. Though as we said that, a grown man rode past us on a lion…

No. We didn’t try one ourselves. (And I was too slow to grab my camera)

When I say this is a mall unlike any other…

that’s not strictly true, because we have been in another mall which had an ice rink.

We continued further along the main walkway in the mall, noticing the same familiar brands and store names. We really could have been anywhere in the world.

Except that, just at the end of the walkway on the left was something else that caught our eye. A swimming pool!

For those who didn’t want to get wet, there was an Aquamassage spot right there too, though for some reason, none of us were too keen to try it!

In between the shops was another large pool of water, this one with some of those swan boats to ride in.

Though a bit further along there seemed to be something moving in there - sea lions! (Poor things, trapped in such a place)

At the furthest part of the pool was a pirate ship. Well, of course there was!

There was a bookstore nearby too, so we lingered a while in there.

As we looked down one of the other side aisles, we saw what looked to be a rather grander style of architecture. But then, we spotted what we’d come here for.

My Hero bought a large bag of his favourite Forever Nuts tea from Davids and, mission accomplished and almost 6000 steps later, we jumped back in the car and returned to pack.

(We didn’t try the bowling alley, either of the 18-hole two mini golf courses, racing a go kart on the multi-level racetrack or the big dipper in the themepark either.)
