All about the journey
We’ve come so far in the last couple of weeks.
Our regular November journey for the weekend, through the glorious Autumn woodland to the Fylde coast.
A couple of days filled with music and great conversation around the table, catching up with some of our oldest friends who have such a fascinating bookshelf.
I “took the day off” to catch up with another lovely, like-minded friend for lunch in a remarkable location.
We didn’t make it much further than the restaurant, because it’s been a while and we had lots to talk about.
On the way home from Paddington, my favourite bear was upstaged on this particular journey by the impressive array of poppies from the Remembrance ceremony just a couple of days earlier. I always find this particular monument rather poignant.
Back at home, our building journey is coming to an end and our house has been filled with activity in every corner. In a few short days we’ve come from here…
to here, with a tiled floor and very nearly finished lighting. Sadly, the safety rail was removed before we had chance to take the packing from the light fitting and our common sense told us to apply patience and not try to lean over without it.
It needed to be removed to make room for the most exquisite piece of craftsmanship. Richard had driven from Rotherham to install the first piece of the (glass) balustrade and we’ve spent most of the weekend admiring his exceptional work.
The last step of the journey is underway and in some respects is the most tricky. Gradually we are making our way out of the chaos, from this…
to this. Nearly done - but not quite there yet.
Which is why our journey home from our weekend with friends involved a detour !
