Blue skies

We had the most glorious day here in Ghent today.

The boat tour on the canals was terrific and we enjoyed the warm sunshine.

We stopped for a while for lunch, finding the best fries just around the corner, eaten with mayonnaise of course and washed down with a cold local beer. Dessert was a few chocolates from the Leonidas store across the street but guess what? They disappeared so quickly I forgot to take a photo!

Then there was the mystery “local speciality”, a sweet shaped like a nose?

As our cruise comes to an end and we find ourselves with too many things we want to do and not much time to do them in, I’ll add Ghent to the Shetlands on my list of blog posts still to come. I promise not to forget details of the nose, too.
