Same procedure as every year, James

New Year’s Eve and here we are again…time to watch our favourite Dinner for One. We used to have a copy on VHS and then, a little later, we had a DVD. But these days, we’re relaxed and think we can just find it on YouTube like everything else.

So, it gets to around 11pm this evening and my Hero suggested it was time to watch. Except, of the countless versions on YouTube, not a single one was the right one. The version we have always known and loved. We found this one - but it’s not as we know it.

We found this one, in Hessisch - German dialect, with Johannes, not James. Ooooer! There were plenty of other versions with a variety of commentaries and explanations. We needed none of that. Just wanted “The Real Thing”.

Eventually, I found what I was looking for, on the NDR website.

Since I’d rather not have to do that search again, I decided to leave the link here so that I know where to find it in a year’s time!
