Heading for adventure
The motor was running first thing this morning and we headed for Heathrow, where we were meeting Edward and Amy for Edward’s 2019 birthday jolly.
Not a bad day then, as I jumped out of the car and took the usual M4 shot. “Taking a snap of the castle, are you?” asked the elegant gentleman wearing a bright red turban. Well, I suppose I was, though I hadn’t actually noticed how clear it was this morning!
Our flight was more or less on time and the four hours passed quickly, mostly spent eating and drinking, for by the time we’d finished dinner we were over the coast of Turkey and didn’t have so far to go. I managed to turn the heels on both socks I have on the go right now - well travelled socks, for the yarn originated in Uruguay and it’s already travelled to Nashville and back.
We arrived around 10pm, after a small panic when I discovered I’d left my handbag tucked under the seat in front of me on the plane. Thankfully reunited, we met our driver Nabil and were soon heading into the city and to our super comfy hotel. The view from our window isn’t terribly attractive.
But look the other way for the best view of all.
Yes, of course the travelling companions got there first!
