Lists

Lists

It's around now that I think I ought to use one of those online travel lists.  Something like this or this.  There are lots to choose from and yet none of them really works for me.  This time, however, there was one list I did find more useful than any other.

We're off on a cruise and there are just one or two things that we'd not normally bother taking on our travels but which do prove useful on board ship.  For example, I don't usually bother taking a small evening bag because we don't usually go to posh places for dinner.  But for the next few weeks, we'll be spending our evenings "at home" and as I'll only need the essentials (lipstick and room key!) a little evening purse fits the bill perfectly.  And whilst it's easy to focus on the smart dressy things, it's also easy to forget that on many days, we're just relaxing in our temporary home and we need to take comfortable everyday clothes too.

The thing is, today I have some unpacking to do as well, for a little bag of craftwork treasures is sitting there on the studio floor, waiting to be put away.

We had fun yesterday - or at least, I did - as once again, the challenge of training to become an NFWI Craft Judge attracted a group of sixteen very talented craftswomen with the most incredible list of skills and expertise.  No lapses in conversation then.

They are now going off to gather practice over the next couple of months and I'm going to take myself on holiday!  We're looking forward to meeting our sweet friends for dinner in Singapore tomorrow evening and spending a few days in the city before embarking on our next adventure.  We've left lists for the house sitters, I've got lists in my bag, of things I plan to buy in Singapore instead of taking it from here and things to look out for along the way.

As I ticked things off one and added things to another, the phone rang with advance love and kisses for Mothers Day from Edward.  It reminded me of a card I spotted in Cirencester the other day which I briefly considered for Bettine (!)  Now, there's a list - but is it intended to apply to the sender or the recipient, I wonder?

A funny sort of day - or two?
