An Elegant Sufficiency

One sixteenth

It's the day when they say that everyone is Irish: St Patrick's day.  Except I'm not.  Well unless you count a great great grandfather born in Drogheda, in which case I can claim just about as much Irishness as many today: one sixteenth.

Our day began with an hour or so learning about the Indian Ocean,  where we will be sailing during the next couple of weeks. Well, more accurately, our day began with breakfast of birchermuesli and blueberries, thanks to Elaine once again.

Decisions, decisions though.  Somehow, it was already lunchtime and there we were, having to decide what to have for lunch.

My preference is often for a piece of simply grilled fish with a little salad, but today, the large pan on the outdoor grill which normally contains a freshly cooked paella, an interesting curry or stir fry had an altogether different offering.

ermm...in this heat?  (I settled for my fish and salad as usual though rather than grilled, it was fried in a guiness batter!)

This afternoon was spent making a teaching sample for later in the year - a greetings card which may or may not make it to the Lower Puddle Village Show and which will give my class of trainee craft judges endless fun in identifying the skills involved it its creation (not many!)

A fun, relaxing day then, filled with doing not very much at all was rounded off with the most delicious meal, served by our favourite A team and accompanied by much laughter.  Afterwards, we sat back and rounded off our first sea day with an Irish themed show by Five O'Clock Somewhere  What a fun way to end a lovely day!
